    RULES

    To Players and Administrators:

Our rules are simple and clear, and the reasoning for them,
and how that applies to the social structure of fragbase will be explained in the following.

Fragbase is founded on idea of free services at the cost of some members.

As a result, the relationship between the management team and that of the
    players is this:

The management team provides the best experience possible while
maintaining the free cost for all players and users of our services.

This statement is our central idea and has two important pieces of
    information in it.

The first is, since the management is sacrificing time and money
to provide free services, their authority in terms of creating these rules
is absolute. Simply put, We pay, we decide how things go.

The second quirk is a converse to the above; because the management is
endowed with that authority, it is the responsibility of the management to
grace that authority properly so that the original goal is still intact
and within reach. We will not go into detail about the organization of the
management, because there’s no need for it, but this brings me to the
point of all this, the rules that relate to player-admin interactions
in-server and user behavior on forums.

    Server Rules:

The primary purpose of the admin is to remove players from the server when needed and to moderate the game play. The criteria to do so should adhere to the above principle, which is the player remove must be causing enough problems for the whole of the server in terms of fair play and on a heavy side bar (only in extreme cases) the environment, both of which are important.

    I.      Fair play
    a.      For players:
    i.      Usage of external executables or programs that provide an unfair
advantage. This means no hacks, no aimbot, you know the drill. Punishment
is permanent ban on sight with no warning. Appeals will be covered later in this section.
ii.     Ghosting or dead players telling where live ones are is considered
cheating and will be treated as if it were a wallhack. Though chance of a
pity unban is higher, the player will need to make extra effort to do so,
so the best possible solution is to not in the first place.

iii.      Scripts which affect player movement/weapons aim/weapon firing are considered cheats as they give unfair advantages to those who may not have mastered to actions in the scripts.

     b.      For the Admin: The admin has no specific rules on how to provide
evidence for a ban, however, the guideline is that the admin must be able
to refute a ban appeal should it appear. Theres plenty of resources for
this, you can record a demo, use amx_banshot, etc…
    i.      Note* Admins should NEVER let their mood or feelings towards a player
affect the outcome of a decision. Regardless of if the person is rude,
demeaning, racist, whatever, if the person does not hack, he may under no
    circumstances be banned Permanantly.

    II.     Environment
    a.      For the player
    i.      Mic spamming: This is the most common issue frequented, and will be
clearly defined here. Mic spamming is using the mic with NO DEFINED
PURPOSE of doing so except to annoy the others in the server.

    1.      Examples of mic spamming:
    a.      Repeated noises that have no purpose
    b.      Playing unwanted music
    2.      Examples of what is not mic spamming
    a.      Being excessively talkative
    b.      Speaking clearly and discernably though with no real relation to the game

    ii.     Offensive behavior
    1.      For Players: offensive behavior will only be punished in the most
extreme circumstances. However, that does not mean players should let go.
In general, act in such a way that you do not intend to offend others or
make the environment uncomfortable. If your having a bad day, and you rant
to others about it, you will not be banned.

    2.      For Admins: Admins have the end result authority, however, they should
exercise properly. Banning people who are “annoying” or “noob fagget” is
not appropriate. Those people are themselves and there is no clear reason
to ban except that the admin does not like them. The ONLY SITUATION a
player may be removed by a maximum of a 60 minute ban (after several
warning and kicks) is when the player’s behavior becomes such that it is
evident the only reason the player is in the server is to annoy everyone and make people leave. Admins should keep in mind that Fragbase was not made to make the world a better place, make everyone love
each other, or teach players how to interact correctly in a social environment—it was made to allow players to kill each other in a virtual environment without cheaters. However, racism will not be accepted.

    iii.    Other*
    1.      Mapchanges:
    a.      Admins can not change maps arbitrarily unless theres compelling reason,
the only of which is the map does not fit the players present.
    b.      Admins must make a vote of at least 2 different maps, both of which
cannot be within the last 3 maps played. This means you can have 2 maps
from the past 3 maps played, but it is required that you also include 2 that are not from past maps.
    c.      Maps cannot be forced on players, the vote is the ultimate authority
here, regardless of what admins “feel” the players should learn to play,
if it is not voted on then the admin cannot change to it unless as
previously stated theres compelling reason to do so.
    d.      Maps must be played a minimum of 15 minutes, excessive map changing is not allowed.

    Forum Rules:

    Basically, use common sense

    I.      Don’t spam, spam is defined as a post that is completely irrelevant to
    the topic.
II.     Don’t post topics in incorrect sections, they will be moved and
    possibly deleted
    a.      Side note* General discussion says discuss anything, moderators cannot
delete strange topics because they fit those parameters
III.    Keep calm, fighting over the internet wont do anything, if you need
to vent do so in the flame room
IV.     Use the search button before, theres no need for repeated topics
    V.      Ban appeals:
    a.      Players who appeal must keep in mind their situation. They are banned
by an admin who is trusted by powers above and as a result if the
situation remains admin’s word vs. player’s word, then there will be no
unban. As such it is a privilege for the section to exist for the players.
    b.      Admins do not ban for no reason, any post that states that will be
deleted until you create one without that statement. Admins banned for a
compelling reason, the only possibility is they made a mistake because of
    the situation.
    c.      Ban appeals must have a date somewhere because if a need arises, staff
can check logs to determine what really happened.

*All rules are subject to change without warning and all rules are also able to be overthrown by executive members, if they see fit.
